Why MFA isn’t Enough

 

Attackers are now using phishing techniques to capture Microsoft 365 access tokens and bypass Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), giving them persistent access to services like Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive:

  • Phishing can bypass MFA using session tokens.
  • MFA fatigue attacks exploit user behaviour.
  • Legacy authentication can avoid MFA controls.
