Align the executives


For success you must ensure the businesses executives all understand what the purpose of business change is and why it is important to stick to the plan even if you start to see delays or roadblocks, simply put if the executive team are not on board then no one else will be.


Be realistic


Like the old sales tactic of under promise & over deliver, making sure you have realistic goals and milestones sounds a basic requirement but you would be surprised at how many technology change projects fail because of unrealistic targets.


Prepare, prepare, prepare


Fail to prepare, prepare to fail as the saying goes. Well this is very true for technology change. This will include preparing the IT team to crawl out of their comfort zone and embrace the new challenges ahead.


Communicate loud and often


Keeping everyone up to date with the plans & progress is obviously very important, for people in the change team communicate early and make sure everyone knows their role & what is required of them. For people outside of the team it is as simple as shout loud enough and people will hear you (no excuses from the 'I didn't know that' brigade.
